...I know where to find some.  Information on that will be available at the bottom of this diary.  Feel free to scroll past my updates on life, travel information, work, my daughter, etc.

Trip to Vancouver

Ok, so here's the deal.  I won't be there on any weekend days, so I don't know how likely some of you in Vancouver will be available.  I arrive Monday morning and leave Friday afternoon.  I'll be staying at the Hyatt Regency downtown and I won't have a car.  So, if you're interested in meeting up one evening during the week let me know and I'll send you a PM or email with my contact information.

Trip to Mexico

I'm also taking the family to Mexico next month to have my daughter baptized.  It should be interesting, and despite my non-religious view, I'm ok with my daughter being raised as a Catholic.  My wife turned out well so I hope my daughter will too.  Most importantly though, I'm looking forward to eating good Mexican food instead of the Tex-Mex crap we get here in Houston.

Baby Update

What can I say?  She's a cutie.  She is getting big and developing quite a personality.  In fact, she already has some girly traits.  For example, she recognizes that everything pink belongs to her.  So if she sees something pink, she tries to take it, even if it is a plastic cup of water that my wife is drinking.  She also is possibly starting teething so she's whining more, but she's still a cutie and generally happy.

Work

Work is changing.  The Chinese guy that used to cause me so many problems is long gone, and I hired a new guy to replace him named Jesus.  My promotion was announced to the management team yesterday, which goes into a long story where I had put in my notice and was going to go be a manager for a company downtown, but then the counter offer was better so I stayed.  Part of the counter offer was a promotion, and the CIO should be sending out an email next week on it to all of I.T.  Things are continuing to get better.
Other

Not much else going on.  I saw Transformers in IMAX the other week when a bunch of us skipped half of the work day to watch it.

I've been getting into Metroid Prime 3 Corruption quite a bit more lately, despite the fact that I've hated every other version of Metroid.  The only bad thing is that I play it right before I go to bed, and it's so immersing that I dream about it, and wake up my wife by doing things like sitting up in bed and saying, "They're forming a circle!" in my sleep at 3:00am.

I bought a new suit and my wife a new dress for the baptism, but what's most interesting about it is that I tried on more expensive stuff first.  For example, an Armani suit was one of the options, and it felt about as comfortable as wearing sweatpants and a sweatshirt.  It didn't feel like a "suit" and was very comfortable and looked really good.  Unfortunately, I can't justify spending thousands of dollars on a suit.  I also can't justify spending $400 on a pair of shoes to go along with the suit.  Now I see why women spend so much money on shoes.  These Italian shoes that I tried on were as comfortable as if they were already broken in.  I would have loved to have bought them simply for the fact that they were already so comfortable.  I can put up with a little bit of pain to save a couple hundred dollars though, so I didn't buy them.

The other week I tried a fried twinkie for the first and last time in my life.  It actually doesn't taste good.  It was very disappointing.

Cheap Ho

We were shopping at Babies R' Us last night to buy some winter clothes for my daughter and we came across this:

My wife wasn't keen on my idea of walking up to one of the floor associates and asking, "Excuse me sir, I was just looking at this advertisement and feel that it is an extremely reasonable deal.  Might I ask you where I need to go in order to see your selection of hos?"
