So last night a vendor took me and a few other people out to a game.

Yao Ming really is a tall son of a bitch.  It's too bad that he's a worse basketball player than me.
Yao Ming

On the bright side, he's better than that Argentinian guy that looks like the huge retard from "The Goonies."

Yao by jayhawk88 (4.00 / 1) #3 Thu Dec 13, 2007 at 01:46:44 PM EST
Seems like Yao is one of those players that is perpetually going to "take it to the next level" and have his "breakout year" for like 10 years straight. See Jermaine O'Neal. Although there are a hell of a lot of centers in the NBA that can't give you 23 and 10 a night; put Yao on a team with someone like Wade or Kobe instead of McGrady and he'd probably have a ring by now.

the lakers could use him by discordia (2.00 / 0) #4 Thu Dec 13, 2007 at 04:39:31 PM EST
they lack a quality center

No shark-fin soup! Yay to tall compassionate by moonvine (2.00 / 0) #6 Fri Dec 14, 2007 at 05:34:14 PM EST
peoples!

What's strange to me is that right after you posted your diary, we, at worky, received an issue of USPAACC, among other publications, with Yao Ming's pictures all over the place.

No shark fin soup? by theboz (2.00 / 0) #7 Fri Dec 14, 2007 at 07:27:53 PM EST
I wonder if it is sold at Yao's restaurant even if he personally won't eat it.  I ate shark fin once here in Houston without knowing it, but it was at a different Chinese place.

Also, why the "tall" reference in the title?  Are tall people usually mean?

I don't think its sold at his place- by moonvine (2.00 / 0) #8 Fri Dec 14, 2007 at 07:40:10 PM EST
that would be weird after all the fuss he and his wife made, publicly decrying culling sharks for their fins. But I'm not entirely sure.

No the "tall" part of my title was to indicate that he found an equally tall basketball playing Chinese  mate- his wife is 6'2" something. And you should see the pictures in this newsletter! He towers over all of the presenters.

I took a look at their site by theboz (2.00 / 0) #10 Sat Dec 15, 2007 at 08:24:31 AM EST
They have a menu up on http://www.yaorestaurant.com/.  It looks like typical American Chinese food, so maybe they are like a P.F. Changs rather than an authentic Chinese restaurant.
